The shape and contour of the driftwood is perfection - really cool mount. I may have to do some treasure hunting on the beach.

The driftwood concept would certainly spruce up a couple euro-mounts.

Pretty nice looking.
I have 1 skull that needs something to mount it to. May keep my eyes peeled when we are on the lake this year.

Looks GREAT! I almost did similar with the driftwood, but went this route. I did this with mine. I've a in-the-field photo fixed to the backer board.

Taxidermist I know has been putting these walnut blocks on the back of his Euro mounts. Got this back 2 weeks ago.

You did not "seen" anything, you "saw" it. A "creek" has water in it, a "crick" is what you get in your neck. Liberals with guns are nothing but hypocrites.

I had a clown taxidermist do a EURO mount for me a few years back. He painted the skull with white paint claiming the bones would disintegrate without it. I was not happy at all since I have a ton of EURO mounts in the house that have never had their skulls painted. I keep forgetting to bring it to another taxidermist to fix it or maybe get a small donor buck and have it shoulder mounted.

First off to the OP - that looks terrific! Never thought of doing anything like that but will need to try that. Either a nice piece of driftwood would be great or a weathered piece of juniper might work?? We had some hard wood floors done a few years ago, with some of the shorter scraps I made up these little stands, not as nice as the others shown but works OK for antelope.

Look good all around. Have a couple elk racks I need to work up. Waiting for some warmer weather here and I'll get them into a water bath.

The drift wood is very nice. The burl a close second. I saw one where they had cut a tree that had a rub on it and had the skull mounted. That was pretty nice too.
