Will be traveling this Sept 2020 to Kauai and want to do some shore fishing there.
Was hoping to bbq some of what I caught but I have heard some say don't eat the shore fish because of ciguatera poisoning.
So, should I pass on the fishing to consume? No idea here.

Just got back from there a month ago. Didn't fish from the shore, but didn't hear anything bad about the fish that were there. Primarily Pompano. No problems with the Yellowfin Tuna that I did catch offshore. Saw a local snorkling with a spear and he kept what he caught.

Don't eat ANY of the shoreline fish. It's too risky because if cuigutoxin.
