Lets say Biden does noticeably better than Bloomber (no idea if that happens just playing what if)
then the situation is flipped - Biden will be in the position to tell Bloomberg he needs to drop out because he is peeling votes away from Biden, the presumptive moderate leader, and hurting his chances of beating Bernie

I think that sets Bloomberg up to run as an independent. No. Mini-Mike is counting on a brokered convention where he can spread around the cash and buy delegates and superdelegates. OK, but who is he going to buy them for, not himself. How many delegates does he have now after Super-Tuesday (5)?

His base will freak. they don't want Biden anymore than they want Trump. I think they do want Biden more than Trump. The hatred for Trump is as deep if not deeper than that which we had (and still have) for Hillary. And there will be no complacency on the Dem side this go around, turnout will be high. Absent a third party candidate, I expect Trump to win in much the same fashion as he did in '16; i.e., narrowly lose the popular vote, soundly win the electoral college. If Trumps gets a significant bump in black votes, he might eek out the popular vote.
The biggest problem our country has is not systemic racism, it's systemic stupidity.

I think they do want Biden more than Trump. The hatred for Trump is as deep if not deeper than that which we had (and still have) for Hillary. And there will be no complacency on the Dem side this go around, turnout will be high. Absent a third party candidate, I expect Trump to win in much the same fashion as he did in '16; i.e., narrowly lose the popular vote, soundly win the electoral college. If Trumps gets a significant bump in black votes, he might eek out the popular vote.

Won't affect most die-hards, but there are still a few folks in the party that have some scruples. . Trump is into grown women, and that's how normal men talk when no women are around.
