Bought a silver one last night. I'd love to see Reger offer a 22 mag cylinder

At the low cost of a Wrangler, you might want to purchase a drill bit that removes rifling from 22 barrels. Brownells might have them. A gunsmith friend used to make ‘shotguns’ out of Remington pump 22’s (572 ?) and removed rifling leaving a perfect 22LR smoothbore. He also Acraglassed sight ribs on the barrels making them look like miniature 1100’s.
Anyway making a Wrangler into a smoothbore should be easy!

i like wrangler’s stiff loading gate, its set up means loading is done with hammer down, i.e. uncocked, so no need to drop hammer on a loaded chamber and worry about a negligent discharge if your thumb slips...don’t ask me more. i just wish the wrangler’s cylinder held 8 22lr rounds, lots of unused space between its 6 chambers.

I ordered a blued one from Brownell’s a while back, $189 & free shipping. Got to my LGS and they had one sitting on the shelf for $189. But oh well, that’s how it goes.
I feel it’s a bit more “clicky” and rattley than a Single Six but for that price I’m definitely not complaining. I’ve heard about them being regulated for 15 yds at the factory but mine shoots pretty much on at 25 yards with Thunderbolts and some ancient Dynapoints (that I’m trying to burn up before they get too hairy). Side note- if I open the loading gate all the way, the cylinder doesn’t spin very easily. If I move the gate ever so slightly from the fully open position, the cylinder spins like it’s on greased bearings. I haven’t looked into it enough to see if there’s a rough edge that needs to be polished.
And,,, I underestimated the time and effort that goes into shooting 200 rds through a single action!

Funny and true. I remember going out with a Single Six and 300 rounds of Mini-mags. A full afternoon of shooting and I came home with 400 rounds.

I have a SIngle Six AND a Wrangler, and the .22 Mag cylinder WILL slip into place easily enough, and you can work it. I did NOT shoot it with the Mag cylinder in it, it WILL fit, but I haven't gotten around to trying it out yet. Don't even know if I will try it.

I DO like the handy weight of the Wrangler, though, it carries a lot better than the Single Six. Light is nice.

You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.
