My M70 375 H&H below. It is in a Brown PoundR. I bought it from a forum member here some years ago. I took it to SE Alaska for brown bear four years ago. I could easily sell all of my rifles keeping this one and my 270 Montana and be set for life. I spoke with Mark Bansner at this years DSC show and he is just now producing stocks for the M70 again. I agree with the above that his ergo's are spot on. I bedded my old tang Ruger Whelen in one and took it to north BC for elk and moose.

With that stock or similar and with that scope or equivalent, this one would be pretty close to that weight. With the big Zeiss Victory 1.5-6 and Tupperware, It's around nine pounds, a pound and quarter more than yours. The scope and stock differences should account for most of the additional weight. That's a nice set up. How much more recoil would I expect going that route? DF

I suspect little as I once owned an early and lighter Rem 700 KS MR from the custom shop when Brown provided the stock (not a PoundR). It cracked at the recoil lug. I sent it back to Remington and they sent it back bedded in the McM stock that now holds my beloved 338-06 rebore of 1995. I killed two elk with that rifle, the 375. This rifle, the 375 H&H M70, is a touch heavier and easy to shoot and noticeably gentler than my 9 1/2# M70 416 Rem M70 in a McM magnum bedded stock. I see no reason to hunt with a 9 or 10# 375 H&H unless recoil is a real issue and it is for some.

Mine is still in original configuration, I added a limbsaver recoil pad.
Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.
