there is nothing quite like New Orleans

I watch NCIS NOLA and am thoroughly disgusted with the peeks of the city they show. But then, I never found any reason to go into a tittie bar either.

If you enjoy that kind of thing, good luck.

I would prefer to vacation w/ Luv2Safari and the burro.

Daughter, SIL, and two gkids leaving for Scotland Monday. Be back following Sunday. Theoretically.

Only two times I’ve been to New Orleans I spent several nights in my tentage on Chalmette battlefield. Went downtown once while there, to train station to pick up a bud. Had a great time staying away from FQ and those shenanigans

As for kids going to Scotland. They are adults and make their own decisions. I’m just the gramps.

Hope it simmers down by June

The estrogen units in our home have two Tay-Tay shows booked, LA and Boston.

I might just move into my Jayco out here in the driveway. 😃

Another thing to think about is,...heaven forbid you caught COVID-19 and even got over it okay,...in today's climate, everybody that knows is going to treat you like a leper for 6 months.

It wouldn't matter to me. I'm not much of a socialite, anyway. But somebody who is active in the community or work is going to experience some changes.

I think both are the issue, unless they are testing every passenger on the plane. Maybe you fly first class but even there folks are in close quarters.

its not titty bars, I mean they have them if you want to look at some rode hard and put up wet gal, but that isn't the city at all.

its acme oyster house, pat o'briens, commander palace, the french market, cafe du monde, central grocery, and about 200 other places to eat and drink - and thats not even hitting Frenchmen Street. I got a tattoo there in 2010

but its not a clean city by any stretch, its grimy, its polluted and its run down in many areas.

Sure about that? I think I saw on TV (I know!) that it could stay on surfaces for up to 10 days or so.

Use gloves... disposables are cheap. I'd worry more about the bartender tho...

The burro is probably better company than most people anyway. smile

Ain't no way I'd get on a cruise ship.

On the other hand, if you *do* go,...you'll have the whole damn boat to yourself.

A month before, we were in D.C. around busloads of tourists from all over the world, including many wearing masks. (We came down with some kind of flu a few days after that one.)

I really don't see running away from this flu unless your health is compromised somehow, or you are afraid to get stuck somewhere under quarantine. I am not as worried about that as long as I am in the U.S.

YMMV

If all I was going to lose was $600, I'd avoid the trip.

Had a doctor's appointment this morning anyway so I asked him if going on a European river cruise this May is a good idea.

He said no. Not a good idea at my age (over 60).

Looks like I'm canceling my cruise. Viking has offered vouchers good for 2 years.

If you have to think twice about doing something, you probably hadn't ought to be doing it.
