Back when a Shotgun News seller had Turkish Mausers for $29.95 each, I bought 10 of them. When they arrived they were nice enough that I ordered 20 more. I've still got nearly half of them stashed away for future projects. Most of the others became some pretty nice sporters.

Im my mind, there is a big room with racks of $

If a guy could just quietly get hold of them and sell
them off one at a time!

There's one on gunboards ..... $6k

The Soviet Mosin Nagant is a good rifle if you can accept the awkward safety device. Not long ago, they were selling for $99. which was a bargain. If you load the Sierra .311 bullet, they shoot pretty good, too.

Picked up a couple of SKS (mid 60s era) from Sportsmans Warehouse. Most of the bluing still there, clean bores and little wear on metal parts inside and out.

Most of the stock wear appears from banging the boots on the furniture.

$400 for a Chinese SKS. They were $90 in 1994.
26th root [400/90] = 6% compounded annually. That is great appreciation for a rifle. That is up there with double action Colts.

I got a K98k from Mitchell’s Mausers that cost me $400. Ironically I was lucky. A Mauser expert I know just offered me
$3000.00 for it. I don’t sell a firearm once I make the decision to buy one. Besides it’s fun to have one in my collection and the only milsurp firearm I own. I never dreamed I’d get so lucky with a Mitchells. Go figure.

I just got an ad from Old Western Scrounger- - - - -they have a limited supply of 1895 Chilean Mausers in two grades. No FFL is required to purchase these rifles- - - -direct shipping to the purchaser with no FFL involved because they're pre-1898 production.

I have plenty of Mausers already, but if you're into collecting oddball variants, this is the same basic action as the 6.5X55 Swede rifles used. I've built a lot of nice sporters on the 95 action over the years.

Yeah, the guns sold in the 90s were primarily NEW commercial renderings or very late model manufacture. Cheap 60's era Novas and Chevelles have appreciated greatly, too. So your point is that you are living in the present and not in the past?

Glad you're up on the gun thing.

I think his point is if an investment was made then, the value would appreciate at that rate. No different than stocks.

Cherry picking my stock and surplus gun deals....

I got AMZN at $10/ share in 2001. It is worth $2042/ share now.

I got a 1941 Springfield Garand for $350 in 1997. It is worth $1200 now.

Take a look at the mountains of Montana,Idaho, Alaska, Wyoming and elsewhere in America. There are so many vast
spaces. My point: we still have plenty of room, and being that we are Americans with a 2nd Amendment we can and should have many millions more. There should never be enough firearms in America that will ever curb our appetite to have many millions more. Although living in Maryland I guess I should understand what it is exactly you are trying to say. Lol.

Sheriff Joe,
Are you from Yuma?
My father was testing at Yuma firing range in 1962 for the M107 and M110 artillery.
I was there for spring break and was 11 years old. I normally hunted with my Daisy 25 BB gun for birds in Seattle.
I met another boy about my age with a BB gun who showed me how he hunted for lizards in Yuma.
Are you that guy in Yuma?
