Greetings,
I recently bought a 3/8" slot blank for a Winchester (Miroku) 1886 and found it's too small. I can't find any other size online. Do any of you know where I can find the correct sized slot blank?
Thanks

I bought one several years ago for my 86 from Brownells and it worked fine.Since then I have made a few from old sights that I cut down and polished .
Having some problems with an old Winchester 94 that the front dovetail slot was a might loose, I used a center punch to create some points in the base of the dovetail and then slid the sight in with a .002 brass shim under it.Trimmed the shim so I could not see it
Also lay a good straight edge across the top of the dove tail slot on the rifle and see if may be the ears on the dovetail are bent up a bit.Might have to straighten them back to flush .

If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles

Saddlesore, the blank I have was bought from Brownell unfortunately it's not working out. I'll check the dovetail but I don't recall it looking/being bent. Thanks

Thanks but went with a brass shim and it worked just fine. I couldn't figure out how to trim the excess brass that showed so played with the start of the shim so it would end up completely under the blank. It took about two beers...

Pieces of soda can make good shims. Cut them with shears to size as needed
