I purchased a Sig SP 2022 to carry while woods bumming. Don’t intend to carry concealed. Often am in and out of the truck several times a day. Compromise might be that I want it to be secure if I take a tumble in rough terrain yet want to be able to access it quickly in an emergency. If this gun gets taken out of the holster, other than for practice, it’ll be to deal with a confrontation of some sort. Thanks for any advice. Royce
Secure the metal clip at the bottom and the holster will never unintentionally disengage the belt...EVER.
Thin loop of 2 or 3 mm perlon can be attached in a figure-eight fashion to act as a thumb break device to prevent loss of the gun even in the worst scenario where a fall could be anticipated.
Don't ask me about my military service or heroic acts...most of it is untrue.

If I'm in and out of a vehicle a lot and want to keep a handgun holstered, a crossdraw model would be my preference. OWB and crossdraw for me means leather, not kydex - everything about kydex is sharp and pokey. There are various leather holsters that have belt slots for both crossdraw and strongside, so all the better. That's where I'd start looking.
The SP2022 is one of the most underrated pistols out there.

I am a fan of the Blackhawk Serpa holsters with a paddle for what you described. When I was deployed I carried one on the FOB and it was easy on and off. I had another holster on my body armor when we left the FOB. The Serpa was comfortable and easy to move around and take off so I bought one for my 1911 and like it too.
