I like Leupold scopes. In your opinion, what is the best Leupold scope to put on a Ruger 10/22?

A 4x rimfire and install a polymer bolt stop to protect it. 10-22s can be hard on scopes.

I really depends on what your going to do with the rifle. Hunting rabbits down in the bottoms a 1-4 0r 1.5-6/2-7 would work well with the large FOV providing quick acquisition. Shooting squirrels out of the tree top, a 2-10, 3-9 giving you more X's to precisely hit half hidden critters. Shooting ground squirrels out in the pasture a 4-16 or 6-24 wouldn't be out of the question. My bolt action 22 Mag wears a 1.5-6x40 with Illuminated dot during predator/rabbit(jacks) hunting season hunting season and a 6.5x20 or 8-32 when I put the 22LR barrel on it for the summer. I see the Leupold VX-Freedom scopes in the classifieds for around $150, I have a couple of them and the glass is as good or perhaps better, than my VX-2's. Admittedly I do not care for the looks of the angular adjustment housing but I don't see it when I am looking through the scope. I have had one on a 10/22 for a couple of years and have put a few 1000 rounds through it with no issues.

4-12X 2-7X Straight 4X aint bad. The FX rimfire (latest) is very short and IMHO looks like chit. Had one on a Mannlicher 10/22. The Freedom might be OK on a plastic stock or modern looking 10/22. But if walnut...........its an older model for me. Set and forget But my rifles were hunters.

I have two of them with the old 3x Leupolds and standard duplex reticle. Bullet-proof and perfectly adequate for things a 22 is able to do easily.

Yes hats a great scope for a 10-22. They were once offered set at 50 yards for rimfires. I have one. Love it.

The 1.5-5x20 on a 10/22 is pretty killer.

I like that picture. Looks like a one shot kill.

At least used to be that you could call and buy any model direct from them, and for a $15 charge they would set the parralex where you want it. Might be worth a call.

Last I checked, to send one in to adjust, they charged $25.00.
Pretty simple to do it yourself for nothing.

My own 10/22 Sporter like Hookeye's wears a Leupold 2.5-8x36 Vari-Xlll in low Weaver rings. That scope has been perfectly serviceable even though the parallax is probably set for a larger rifle. I'm more of a hunter than a target shooter and the parallax issue has never been a problem. I figure that I can wiggle more than any parallax issue and I mounted that scope before I even realized what it was. Subsequently I put a 3-9x32 AO Rimfire on my M61 and I like that one because I can adjust the parallax down to 10 meters which has been my typical red squirrel shooting range around the cottage. That Rimfire scope has a very fine Duplex cross hair, but while a little too fine for my taste, it works well for precision shooting. If rabbits on the run were on the menu, I'd put my 1-5-5x20 Vari-Xlll on that 10/22.
My other auto is a .45

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.
