I ordered this blade from Amazon and then ordered a saw blade that would cut the Aluminum butt I made on the lathe.
I made the blade handle shorter, narrower, and drill holes in it.

Then I had to wait again for this 1/4" brass to show up.

I put the glued up [5 min epoxy] knife in the 4 jaw chuck is a rotary table on the mill.
I then dialed it in so it would rotate about the butt axis.

I found a scrap of wood with a 1 inch hole. I used that as a steady rest for the knife. I screwed the scrap to another scrap in the mill vise.

I milled the butt to two angles.

I shaped the metal with a file and rubbed True oil on the wood with 400 grit.
The wood is Koa Sapwood. That is not soft like other sapwood. It is hard.
