The House has been using the "voice vote"* regularly for at least 40 years, that I personally know of. MANY votes in the House are by voice votes - anyone who has watched much CSPAN/CSPAN2 knows that.
Claiming it is "illegal" or "unconstitutional" now is basically useless.
* Calling "for the Yeas and the Nays" and declaring the result by whichever the man in the dais says was loudest - only sometimes does anyone ask for the votes to be recorded, making them actually enter their vote into their desk voting system.
