Gotta' love guilty childhood pleasures. Fanta Grape is right up there but the fifths of rotgut vodka seasoned to perfection with a packet or three of powdered Kool-Aid might be king. Especially in deep winter blizzards. You knew you were a member of the ne'er do well gang when you'd have ten fools huddled in a subway tunnel around boom box and trashcan fire, swilling on bottles of bright pink juice with 8 of us wearing one glove apiece and two bare-handed trying to trade first crack at a saved roach in exchange for 15 minutes of a glove rental. wink

When I was a kid it was orange crush. Don't drink pop hardly any more. But I drink a couple Mocha Rock Stars most days which is prolly worse for you than pop. I don't waste any time napping though. lol

Grape Nehi was the best grape soda when I was a kid in the late 1950’s. Followed by Orange Crush.

The ones I found were so bug infested I tossed them. I'm sure I've eaten many a bug and didn't know it, but I'll be damned if I knowingly do so.

Never seen them on the forest floor up here in NH. Don’t think we have em. Maybe I just never looked in the right places at the right times. But man, I’ve paid through the nose for them to put on plates in restaurants I run. Sautéed morels and Ramps, to die for. Chanterelles aren’t far behind. Good for you. Jealous.

It was Rancid Crabtree who described mushrooms. He said there are 2 kinds. The gooduns are them with th' wrinkly tops. Al' the rest is toadstools.

I grew up with parents who didn't allow their boys to drink soft drinks/sodas except for rare, special occasions. We COVETED any opportunity to ingest any carbonated, sugary elixirs of mostly any impossible to find in nature flavors (artificial) and colors (artificial) but of the lot, the one I was absolutely willing to flay a toddler alive for was Fanta Grape. As I grew up it was often a guilty pleasure I'd indulge in quite a bit as a teen and beyond, but on a progressively infrequent basis. FF to about ten years ago in Corpus Christi rolling with STX. In a great mood I exit the Squiggly Piggly or whatever the Christ it was with a couple decks of smokes, a sack of heat lamp tamales, a Rock Star for Roger and a bottle of Fanta Grape. As I pop back into Roger's Cummins dually with a smile he freezes, stares at me hard and stone faced and perplexed then asks, 'dayum Yankee, whut's with the Neeger Drank?' I was horrified yet somehow delighted at the same time. We then headed out and killed piles of ducks in the Laguna Madre. And thus ends my grape soda tale... wink

Used to love Elf brand pop as a kid. When I got to college the local merchants gave out a bundle of coupons at the start of the year. One was for a free 2 liter of Elf. Tasted like ass.

Forgive me for this post not being Corona, COVID, or stock market related but I’m better at this kind of stuff anyway.
Went out to feed cows this evening and decided we better snoop around for some shroons since we got a nice rain yesterday and had some sunshine this afternoon. Jackpot! Found about 40 or so in 15 minutes. [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc] [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

In a small skillet, sauté chopped celery and onion with butter but keep crisp, don't let the butter brown or cook them down to mush.

Boil 1 lobster tail until done. (10-13 minutes for 1 lb lobster)

Clean your larger Morel caps and remove stems.

Shred you lobster meat when done.

Thoroughly mix the sauteed onions and celery with the shredded lobster.

Stuff your cleaned Morel caps with the lobster/veggie mix and place in baking dish.

Place dish in oven at 350 for 15 to 20 minutes then remove.

Carefully place your lobster stuffed Morels along side your Ribeyes on the BBQ and remove when steaks are done, may need turned once while on the BBQ...

Enjoy.....

Dang Jeff that sounds good. Probably isn’t a lobster tail within 30 miles of here unfortunately.
