North America is changing. Many conservative leaning people are polarizing farther right. Some farther left. The left are going farther left. The center are polarizing

Governments are stressed. Help the economy, help business, help people, help high density cities....help the weaker members of society.

Nothing is free tho.Someone pays in the end. The wealthy and middle class WILL pay for this. The poor, homeless, sick, needy and vulnerable will benefit and need more and more and more.

Canada just announced many many millions more for charities and non profits helping the young and the old. High density cities need and want more. Both sides of the border do not want to use armed forces to contain cities, contain States and Provinces.

Who will pay for all this when it's over? Governments only control collective finances. Spend now...collect later, figure it out later.

High density populations are forcing all government leaders to move left.

Which way will you go?

This is what I should have said.

Some of us would like to leave the world a better place for our children and grandchildren than what it was when we came into it. Best as I can tell, they will all be tax slaves when they come of age due to all this spending.

That is an astute post, I would add one little thing, maybe it's just semantics, but in my view, the split transcends political boundaries. It's more sociological than political, it's in our very dna...it's urban vs rural that defines the split, so many people do not participate in the political process that political numbers (only 56% in 2016) are meaningless. Maybe it comes down to those who want to be taken care of, and those who want to take care of themselves. Like Toot said, the die is cast. Balkanization may be the end result. I don't think the flyover people will ever consign themselves to being responsible for the care and feeding and well being of the urban elites who have heaped scorn and derision on the deplorables for the last 100 years.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

I lean toward the side with all the guns and the ability to use them. Call me ultra conservative.

IMO this is the legacy of the magic negroe. Divide the country as it has never been divided before along any lines you can find. Political, racial, urban vs. rural, gun owners vs. anti-gunners, rich vs. poor and middle class, blue collar vs. white collar, military vs. civilian. Get my drift?

I think current events are changing the minds of a lot of people who are undecided and are have yet to take a position. Those who have already decide are polarizing to the right or left.

I don't think true leaders are forced to take a side. True leaders lead based on their position on the issues, whether that be for the good of the people or to consolidate wealth and power unto themselves. Difficult times reveal the true character of people.

Am neither a troll or a liberal. Just concerned where my current funds and future wealth will go. Not happy about libjuts spending and allowing the economy to nose dive.

I am working and watching it all go out the window before my very eyes.

conservative becoming ultra conservative very quickly

would rather see NY and other hot spot places with armed forces surrounding them forcing them to stop the spread. What good is an armed force in a 'war' if you don"t use it?

No amount of taxes can repay what is owed. Maybe, just maybe they’ll be able to service the debt. Maybe.

Too soon to tell, I’d say.
