I started catching up on my 'to do' list today.

One of the things was a box of IVI 5.556 brass that needed to be processed - deprimed, cleaned, swaged, resized, and trimmed. I was surprised to discover that IVI brass weighs more than what has been published on the Interwebs. I'm not sure where this list came from, but as you can see, these are the weights and case volumes from a list I found when Googling for information a while back. The last entry for IVI is my own. I weighed 60 cases. This was the average.

Lake City - 92.0 - 30.6
Remington - 92.3 - 30.4
Lake City - 93.0 - 30.4
Federal - 96.3 - 30.2
Hornady - 93.9 - 30.1
Lapua - 93.4 - 30.1
Win - 93.9 - 30.1

IVI - 98.45 - 30.3

At any rate, I deprimed and inspected approximately 860 cases this afternoon. When I started weighing them after depriming, I was surprised at the result, so I re-weighed them on another scale. No change. They have not been ultrasonically cleaned, but there isn't 5 to 6 grains of dirt on them. I will check again after they have a bath. Just something I noticed on a Sunday afternoon.

As well, there were only five cases of the 860 that were obviously damaged.
