So I acquired a 99F and a fajen stock and with minor Dremel work it fits like a glove but..... when the action is closed the safety will not go in the safe position. If the action is open it works or if it is closed with the stock off it works, any ideas or seen this before, I have sanded
the area out where the safety slides, even squeezed on the bottom frame to see if it pinched the sliding part, I am stumped.

Thanks.

I'd use a spotting agent like Acetylene soot and see where it's binding.
The tip-tang safety has a linkage that can rub if your inletting is not cut to clear it. For the safety on the lower tang, it would be easier, but it seems something is not clearing. If the bolt is not totally shut it will not allow the safety to lock either so be sure the lever itself is not binding somewhere to cause the bolt to stay back a bit It it's only open a slight amount the lever notch will not clear the safety, at least that's how it was on my 99

I thought I checked the lever locking it is top tang safety, I and pretty sure everything clears on the top near the slide and that angled piece that moves the rail at bottom, I will conform both of these items though. I tried to mark it but I suppose I will give it another run.

Does the lever touch the stock keeping the chamber out of battery?

It appears the action sits just a hair deep in the stock, so the lever was touching albeit slightly to stock in the closed position, The was a little hump in the pistol grip that was touching I sanded that out and it working now, but once I get the bolt to attach the action to the stock I might have to shim the stock to keep the from seating that far into the stock, it has a pretty tight clearance. Thanks guys I have never started with just pieces on one of these.
