I take it to mean that on that day, that days total of covid deaths was compared to the daily average for the other causes.

Winner.

The daily average of the cold virus deaths is still less than people dyin of "lung obstruction".

Every day.

So, let's trash the Constitution.

The big question is... will more people die from accident, injury and sickness, which would normally live and fully recover, when all the ICU beds are full of covid coughers and wheezers?

What accidents and injuries?

Everybody's home. no one's driving. Sports are cancelled.

Accident and injuries are down, not up.

Same for the regular flue. The fever tracker show all fever related sickness declining since the lock ins started.

People are already starting to move. They will not stop. Traffic is increasing. Accidents at home still occur. And things will only increase. NOBODY stays home indefinitely. So, more accidents, more injuries (even at home) and more spread of Covid19.

Perfect storm is developing.

I wonder what the cancer and heart graph would have been for this time period if we didn't have COVID-19??

If we have 100K+ Covid deaths, it might be interesting to see what they look like over the next 12 months. That would help us understand how many of these deaths are "excess deaths".

Wrong. In this context, it means the total number of deaths per day from the disease. That can easily be tallied.

What won't be known (unless we get widespread testing in place and test everyone) is the percentage of infected people who die from the disease.

The others have been around for a long time, including heart disease, cancer, and others. They have been brought down by various means. What does that have to do with the increasing death rate for covid? They do not cancel each other out.

Well stated. Thanks.
