Got a good buddy looking for a couple pieces of serviceable 30 Herrett brass for a project. Anyone have a couple they can spare?

You might want to post the question in Single Shot page to get the Contender guys to reply..

So, my buddy is pretty resourceful and has acquired, over the years, many different sets of dies. He made a piece of 30 Herrett brass using the dimensions pulled off a diagram and passing 30-30 brass thru a 7BR bushing die.
I just checked with him and he said he has what he needs now. He's also got a bid up for a set of dies.
HE says thanks to everyone who offered to help out!

A little more info on his "project".
He had the winning bid on a very custom #1 that appeared to be chambered in 30-30.
When it arrived a cerasafe casting showed the chamber to have a shorter chamber. After he sent me some info I determined it was a 30 Herrett shoulder but with a much longer neck. The neck turned out to be the same length as a standard 30-30 case.
The rifle was customized into a Shcutzen type rifle with the metal U-shape butt plate and stock lines and the barrel had been replaced with a half octagon in 14" twist.
While I have a little idea that the cartridge may actually be of European linage I just don't know.
Any ideas?

Hope he isn't out a bunch of money - sounds like a bastardized chambering . . .

No sir. The shoulder is moved back to the same as 30 Herrett. Funny thing is the neck is not trimmed back shorter like the Herrett but is same length as the standard 30-30.

Cast bullet shooter, probably used in ASSRA matches. Post this on the assra.com web site and see if anyone recognizes it.
