Yeah, about 2 years ago I gave a case of it to a co-worker. He’s a good kid. I could spare it.

I still have what I need.

Never did understand why someone would by shcit tons of ammo just to hear it and feel it as actually hitting "it" is not an options.

Many years ago, when Bud's gun shop was actually owned by Bud, I walked in one morning about 11:00 am and he had a crate of SKS's in the middle of the floor with a price sign beside it,..$99. He also had cases of Chinese 7.62X39 ammo in sardine cans for $60.

He had pulled the case of SKS's out when he opened that morning and half of them had been sold in 3 hours.

I came home with one of the rifles and a case of ammo.

I pulled the sear out of the action and ground about 1/16" off of it with a surface grinder, then drilled and tapped the back of the trigger guard 8-32 and screwed a button head screw in it to serve as a trigger stop. The trigger had about 1/8" travel after that,..maybe a little less.

I painted the stock OD green and put a 1" rubber extension on the back to make the length of pull suitable for garden variety, full size Americans.

I played with it until I was tired of it, then swapped it off.

I wish I had that little rifle back. I was getting good groups with it using Hornady .311 diameter 150 grain soft points over an appropriate charge of H322.

I like it, reminds me of the quote by Jack Nicholson in The Bucket List.

$300 is the current craze price. I just bought 2 cases of wolf a month ago for $200 ea, which is pretty much the best going rate for a case of steel case ammo.
And I’m not all that old (45) but even I remember when a case was $99. The craziest increases have been on surplus 762x54R and 8mm.. I remember 440 tins for nagant were $40 and 8mm was $90/1000.
Man... if we only knew

Bucket list by Jack, Kiss the pretties girl in the world. Morgan asked, "now how the hell do you propose to do that"?

I pay $0.25/round when Academy has the Wolf 100 packs. That’s the best deal I’ve seen since I starred shooting that little commie round.

Just sold 3700 rounds at $250/thousand. To a buddy who has a shop and needed some to sell. He’s moving it out at 7 bucks a box of 20.

Yep - I remember the same thing - they were stacked from the floor to the ceiling. Good times at that store. grin

I've still got a stash of that Chinese steel core.

My AK likes Tula soft point. I got a case delivered back in November last year for $230. Should have gotten more.
