So, needed hospital supplies should sit in upstate NY warehouses and not be used?

I have a niece who is an RN. She is a nursing supervisor in a multi-hospital group in the Saginaw/Flint area of Michigan. They have seen a few covid patients. No panic.

I have two daughters. Younger daughter is an RN. Just finished her clinicals for her CRNA. She will be taking her boards early next month. There was no panic in the two hospitals she was working in in Miami. Older daughter is a MD at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. They have a few covid patients. They have plenty of safety equipment, etc... They are not panicking.

Those are the three medical professionals that I know the best. I trust what they are telling me. If anything changes, I'll post it here.

What do you "think" that map tells us?

What it tells me is they are normal everyday heavy traffic areas and areas with substancal military presence.

tells me the concentration of covid cases ?

That isn't what your original post states! Your words " Anyone care to guess the political demographic of the "most" affected areas."

Prove a correlation between political demographics and the virus.

Again what that map shows us is typical high traffic areas of the US and large Military presence. Nothing to do with political demographics.

the map shows the concentration of covid, I insinuated that the most inundated areas have a heavy democrat influence.

get your facts straight

My facts are straight. Again prove that is the correlation!

There are over 20,000,000 people in the NYC SMSA.

Total dead will probably be a fraction of 1%, so over 99% of people will survive.

If you look at it from the "half full" perspective, who wouldn't take a chance when the odds were better than 99 to 1?

Or so it seems to me.

And we're supposed to take WHO as the gospel? Isn't this the same group that is heralding China as being so great! [/quote]

I'd go with wild speculation from the media and magnified on a gun board, were I you. I won't interrupt your panic. Enjoy.

The hot spots are in Democrat areas, but the victims tend to be older and even in NY it would take out a lot of conservative voters.

Again what does that have to do with the number of cases there? It is also one of the heaviest trafficked areas in the world!

My youngest daughter is an ICU RN and she is in a panic. I respect her medical ability but I don't figure she knows much more arithmetic than I do. I don't believe this will affect the death rate for the nation much when all is said and done. Anyway if this thing killed everybody over 65 and all the chronically ill, I believe it will be looked at as a plus when our descendants 150 years from now look back. What I don't like is that our adversaries in this world now see how easily spooked and panicked we are. Also this acquisition of debt is a terrible thing to do. If Trump weren't between a rock and a hard place with this election I believe he would tell us to man up and ride this thing out.

You misunderstand me. Why are they saying anything positive. Good if what they say is true but it sure does not fit their alibi. Also I'm not panicked, I'm infuriated!

Actually, what I see there with the heaviest concentration of C-19 correlates to the areas of the country with the highest level of immigrants, both "legal" & illegal, which generally correlates to the lowest level of (medical) education & for sure the lowest levels of hygiene in the country.

Of that there is absolutely no doubt & no disputing it, east coat, west coast, Florida, Chicago & Detroit.
