I was off to a great start researching based on the information provided in the $650 build thread.... now there are hardly any components to order. Everyone is sold out! There is money to be made in AR rifles right now I guess.

I've been buying parts for some spare uppers & have had no problems with getting what I wanted, but I'm also not buying bottom feeder stuff either. MM

I'm sure I'm way down the totem pole on extra parts compared to the armorers on here but I have stocks, gas blocks/tubes, old handguards, muzzle cages, detentes, springs, etc. Heck I only have two AR's at this point as well, probably guys on here with a dozen. Buying stuff and changing it out is part of the attraction. Should have a trade, buy, sell, thread going on here anyway but now is kind of a bad time.

Actually, I was going to follow along the lines of your recommendations on the $650 thread Bluedreaux. I was going to change a few things as I did some research like the BCM upper, BCM stock etc... maybe even the LaRue trigger. I was going to try and make a quality, and not heavy 16" barreled AR. Now all the parts kits etc are sold out. I may have to wait a couple months to get what I need. No biggie, it gives me some time to learn more about what I might want. Thanks for all the advice on this forum guys!

I picked up a couple of the BCM stripped uppers (blemished) and an upper parts kit. Will have to do some looking on barrels, BCG etc because what I was looking at was gone!
