Sad deal đ 40yo mom w 8yo son hop in a canoe on Chesapeake Bay to retrieve a lost ball (soccer?), get swept away from shore by wind in 2 - 3ft seas. Very sad news to hear. Its just horrible to loose a 40 yo mom and 8 yo son together. They sure have had more than their share of hardships

Through a degree of stupidity on my part, seven years ago me, my Ex and my nephew got swamped in a canoe by the tidal riptide in about the middle of the lower Hudson, we were all wearing PFD's and were picked up by a passing cabin cruiser within minutes.
Sure was a sobering experience to be looking at all that water from chin level and realizing the river didn't GAF if you lived or died.

I thought most Mothers were overprotective of their children... Mom was likely guilty of no life jacket for her child. Too bad the child had to suffer her irresponsibility. Accidents like this donât just happen, they are caused. Very sad...this was a mother and child. Not guilty of anything
