270 fan for a long time. I hate to say it ...The 6.5 creed puts it to shame at the range.

Any round that has 30-03 as a Daddy and the 30-06 as a sibling, can never be gay. Just like any kid of Chuck Norris can't be either. Nothing gay about the 270 nor the 6.5 Creedmoor. I have both in the closet.... I dress mine differently when I take them out in public. Big scopes, with huge turret knobs, add a ammo holder on the buttstock. We fit right in....😬😎

The .270 Winchester is one of the all time great rounds for medium to big game hunted in wide open spaces such as mule deer, sheep and elk. It is perhaps the quintessential Western hunting round. That other developments may have eclipsed it in the Holy Church of Gun Gack does not diminish it. While the modern computer carrying, weather station equipped tacticool sniper may deride it, those that still spot and stalk game know its usefulness.
Someone said something in jest a while back and it took hold. How many here remember the poatal matches we used to have and why they were called that? Now the "270 is gay" is just a running joke that folks use to poke fun at other folks. No harm unless someone takes it personal.

the 270 is like the really good looking guy who doesn't act like a caveman and porks tons of chicks. all the cavemen are jealous. and ya, i've had a 270 for 40 years and have porked tons of chicks. Would that be 2, or 3 chicks?

Mine has killed bull elks and lots of deer, including a huge bug thick 33 inch 5x5 muley. And a bull moose and bear. got any pics of the Muley. They are my favorite North American big game.
