Watching it now. The classic, from 1960.

Who was the coolest in the movie? Not in life - NOBODY beats McQueen. NOBODY.

Coburn for me - in the flick. Calm n collected.

You couldn't come close to rounding up a cast like that nowadays.

On film, always thought McQueen weird, maybe off film as well.

Not in the 7, but Lee Marvin always gets my attention. Jmfo.

Charles Bronson - Always a solid actor and the movie has quite possibly the best matched main theme song ever done.

It was a great movie but it lost 2 points when I discovered that the entire plot was taken from a Japanese movie called 'The Seven Samurai'.

One of the coolest westerns ever. Thanks for reminding me about it. Even though I'm retired I spend a LOT more time at home these days for obvious reasons. Got that movie on DVD almost 10 years ago and I still haven't even put it in the DVD player yet. I'll watch it this week. And speaking of McQueen, who was ultra cool in that movie; I also have a DVD of "Bullit" here that I haven't seen in years. Another McQueen classic.

You do realize the 1960 movie is also a remake?

Hollywood, heck the globe film industry, has made its money its entire history by telling and retelling stories from books, the bible, other movies, the headlines..... Very little original, just remakes of other things. It doesn't diminish a well told tale with a new twist in my opinion.

Yep but we're talking about the magnificent seven not seven samurai.

Eli Wallach as Calvera, he played a Mexican bandit better than a Mexican bandit could play a Mexican bandit cool

When you watch "Bullit", keep track of how many times that VW appears in the chase seen through the city.

Was pretty good in Wall Street 2 - almost unrecognizable.

1851 - Melville writes Moby Dick

1852 - Still no reply from Moby Dick, Melville greatly disappointed

In his day Steve McQueen was the epitome of cool. Cancer took him way too soon.
