Turned out way better than I imagined. Will the 30BR feed in a BDL (Hawkins Oberndorf)? With the Bighorn SR3 controlled feed, It is one of the smoothest feeding rifles I've ever cycled, if not THE smoothest. Jon really got it figured out. Got a lot going but hope to shoot it this weekend.

I like that a lot. What twist did you go with?

Clint, They just don’t come any better than Jon. He has built 2 for me and both are perfect.

I soooo badly need to put you on ignore. I've ended up with 3 2.5-10x32's and just got a pair of APA rings. Please find a problem with the Bighorn action and post all about the problem and the problem only.....nothing about any good points on the action. I don't need another project.

Edited to add: Sweet setup!

20 lbs which is equates to a little over 4000 rounds. That was the first thing bought when the build started.

H4198 (somewhere around 34 gr probably) and 125 ballistic tips. Can't wait to see what velocity it can achieve with a 19" barrel. I'll be happy with 2800 fps. Objective is a point blank range, accurate, quite, low recoil, deer thumper.

Jay, I've sandbagged a few builds. This is my third Bighorn SR/TL 3 action. Never say never but for now I wouldn't even consider another action. As for the APA rings, the .750s are the only picatinny option with a 30mm scope as far as I'm concerned. And the little NF isn't perfect but the closest thing I can find for a lighter weight rig right now.

Mike, good to hear from you, you've been laying low. Jon is the man. As long as he's building rifles, he's building mine.

What are you going to use on the other half of the barrel life?

Exactly! Lots to like about the 30BR for a PBR rig.

H4198 and 125 BT

Found pressure at 31.5. Backed down to 31.0. Velocity out of the 19" barrel at 31.0 is 2750 with an ES of only 3 fps, per 5 rounds shot through the magnetospeed.

Crazy accurate, I'd be satisfied if it were 13 pound rig, and its only a 7 pounder.
