I've got a Compact 2.5-10 that is stamped Made in USA, yet I see other used NXS scopes listed online with quite a few of them having Made in Japan stamped on them. Has production of the NXS line been completely moved to Japan, or is it just specific models? If so, about when did this happen?
Thank You.

I thought the parts came from Japan and assembled in the USA , I think that applies to all models except the SHV . My SHV is entirely made in Japan.

The compacts are entirely made in the USA, and maybe some other models. SHV Japanese assembly. The rest are assembled here with some or all Japanese parts

I've got an ATACR 5-25x56mm here that is stamped "Made in Japan", which kind of surprised me.

Thanks, all.
Just wondering if there's a rhyme or reason to where they're assembled.

I believe the NX8 and SHV are made in Japan while the NXS is made in the US.... Curious now....

You gearing up for elk season? Well..... I bought it last winter for a trip next year that didn't pan out, then finally got around to mounting it about a month ago. Then I broke 4 ribs and a collarbone before I could get it zeroed. Good times.

Follow the link........ https://riflescope-review.com/where-are-nightforce-scopes-made-or-manufactured/The following Nightforce scope models are marked as being made in Japan: SHV series NX8 series NXS series Competition series Benchrest series
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

I have a couple of older NF scopes, one NXZ 5.5-22 and One SFP ATAC-R 5-25, loose right now due to upgrades on rifles and both of them show made in Japan.

They used to make scopes in Orofino with mostly US made parts. In the last couple of years most stuff has been made in Japan, and tested here.

I know they did assemble them in Orofino but much longer ago than a "couple years". The two I mentioned above are both well over the age of two. That NXS is a zero stop model but fairly early on in that generation.

All of my nxs compacts (32s and 42s) are labeled MADE IN U.S.A. Getting harder to keep track... as labeled on the scope: NXS Compacts....USA NXS...Japan (except for the discontinued NXS 3.5-15x50 F1 which was USA) ATACR (SFP and F1s)....a big bag of weiners. Both USA and Japan. BEAST....USA NX8 looks to be Japan If labeled with USA they're pretty good about proudly positioning it on the top of tube ahead of the turret housing. If labeled Japan, usually on the underneath side somewhere.

Sure. But he doesn’t address the compact directly. I believe the compact and F1 were always made (assembled) in the US with at least 60% US made parts (or 80%, depending on who you read.)

The scope tubes and some internal parts on the US scopes were made at Mili-Tech in Cottonwood, ID. Glass is of course from Japan on all scopes.

The US made scopes have a “made in the USA” on the top of the tube in front of the elevation turret.
