Why on earth, was a raccoon wearing your pajamas?

Glad you shot him. I hates a thief.

I shoot squirrels from the hot tub on the deck. Nothing pisses me off more than sticking the cigar in the scope on a fast shot.

Bobby257: I am proud of you on the "cessation program for Magpies"!
Keep that up.
Magpies are the most destructive of creatures when it comes to nesting songbirds and gamebirds on earth.
I must advise this though - many years ago on this forum I caught heck from a few unknowing know it alls that I should be imprisoned as shooting Magpies was illegal.
I hope the majority of CampFirers are NOW aware of the horrible harm Magpies do - my policy/motto "keep the Magpies numbers down to a minimum".
Thanks for your efforts.

With everybody at home now the cat lovers are letting their house cats run around outside all day, I saw 3 yesterday in the street just on my block alone. I live in the city limits where I can't (legally) shoot them but I do have 3 live traps so I'll pick up some cat food or sardines at HEB today when I do my weekly grocery shopping.

At least with an elephant they can't get in there with you. Aim carefully!

Seriously. Sitting down at my covid work from home station, in my morning wear. I get up to pee, look in the back yard and a 3-legged, tailless racoon is ambling from the house.

Pop, pop, pop. One dead trash panda.

We have several without tails. They tear them off fighting.

Took said raccoon to a place where the turkey vultures can find it. It had all four feet. Just one was tore up. The tail was bloody and obviously recently removed. But your not supposed to talk about fight club.

And I shot it at least twice.

Sorry no photos. Had to rush into work (not in my pajamas).

Steve, nice shoot’n...

Here’s what I just experienced last week for 4 days after operation raccoon down at Beaver’s house.

Boot the dog tree’s a big coon while I’m pressure washing our deck.

Browning A-Bolt 22 LR got the nod to bring death.

Head shoot Racky-Coon in the head...He falls dead into the thick brush.

Beaver goes back to work, while Boot sniffs the coon up...All good - Not.

4 days later Boot goes down and hard, won’t eat, can barely walk, licking his lips, this all playing out at 9PM on the Oregon Coast where we don’t have much, if any emergency medical vet care.

Next morning, Boot is no better, no worse, but very sick...Call the big city vet clinic and drive Boot 2 hours to get seen.

Standard question...What did Boot eat, get into, salmon, crab, lawn poison? IDK, he’s a free ranging mutt who’s 4 years old and full of trouble.

Tests revealed he caught a bad case of Leptospirosis from licking the blood off the raccoon...106 temp, 3 night hospital stay with tests and meds came to $4375. Sick dog, almost lost him. He’s still on a lot of medication for the next 2 weeks.

Here’s the pisser....I had him vaccinated against the Coon Flu 7 months ago after he got into a raging yard fight with a coon.

Vet said the vaccine doesn’t always work...Well, No Shît ! $4375 dollars later.

😎
