Out shooting one of my favorite long rifles today. I’m not sure if I posted this year before. This is a compilation of some pictures that are old and new. This is a 20 caliber long rifle. I load it with between five and 10 g of 4F. (22 Long rifle or 22 Magnum case as my Measure)
Five grains has little to no trouble going through three-quarter inch plywood at 25 yards and 10 grand gets me just about through a 2 x 4. It also flips the 3/4 pound steel block holding the Clay without any trouble

First my favorite picture from the original owner. The cat has passed on but it’s still a great picture.

All the powder that you’re going to need for about 25 shots and priming the pan

Are use a 22 pallet with a baby inserted as my projectile. Starts snug but easy to load with the ramrod. No patch needed

7g about made it though PT 2x4
(U can just see the BB)

It also has no trouble dimpling up my steel targets, thus I use AR plate made for target shooting when backer needed.

Uh oh, now I know what I'll be building in the shop next winter. Is that a liner in an existing barrel? Is it rifled? What twist? Will I owe you any royalties?

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

For Additional build info, go on American long rifles.com. Reach out to a gentleman named Keb

He knew mr salvo quite well. I just responded to one of his posts under the Gun building section of the site

This rifle is a smoothbore, I will check and see if I can see a liner. Barrel is about 5/8 dia

Some additional pics and info
Length of pull is around 14”. Overall rifle length is about 60”. Weight is estimated at around 5-6 pounds. Smooth bore. Salvo built this barrel. (There was a .25 Up for sale at about the same time that had a rayl barrel.) 44” from about the touch hole to the muzzle.
points like a dream. Very nimble
His style was along the lines of “southern mountain.”
Pictures are hard for reference, maybe this will give you a better reference, 22 Long rifle/ spent case
