reminds me of when I was about 6 or 7, living in the NYC environs (pseudo-intellectual word choice), and I set the storm drain on fire with a sprinkler on July 4. Dropped it right there when I was called to come inside. Guessing all the trash and dead leaves caught, smoldered for awhile, then caught.

Woke everyone the hell up in the middle of the night when the FD showed up to put it out.

Me, I just lay in bed looking out the window, trying not to show guilt................or joy.............at what I had done.

The old man surely would have beaten my ass to a nice rosy red had he known.
