He has a poor grasp of federalism and the 10th Amendment.

He's doing a good job and has from the first day in office, but sometimes he steps in it.

For his own self gain, he supported democrats and republicans. A billionaire doesn't need to know the constitution; it don't apply to them.

The 10th Amendment died with Wickard v. Filburn.

that is the states right amendment. trump respected it and closed down nothing in local areas. however he does say he is in charge of the reopening. on this issue I agree. I think we have certain democrat governors that actually would keep things shut down for the next 18 months. I think telling them they have to reopen is the right thing.

Trump is technically 100% correct - he has 100% ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY to "announce the country is open for business."

But the words are really meaningless....

Because each and every State Governor has full authority to decide at that point how they want to handle re-opening their state.

The entire exchange was a battle of whits, interpretation, and word-smithing, to make a point, on both sides.

Frankly, a waste of airwaves. Trump should have just said, "I'll make my announcement, and the liberal Governors can choose to not comply, at their personal political and State's economic peril" (or something like that)

They would like to keep it shut down until after the election, for sure, and have us vote by mail.

Agree, he should have stopped when Pence leaned in to talk to him...............

I support him in many ways but it does give me pause when he uses words such as "I have ABSOLUTE power but I CHOOSE not to use it".

There's a few puzzle pieces missing there. Then again, we could be watching Hilary with self appointed absolute power and choosing to use it.

President Trump realizes now that he's been screwed by the liberals in about 8 diffeent ways, on the Covid-Y2K deal.

Liberal Governors shut down their states, and blamed it on the Federal shutdowns.

President Trump will lift the Federal shutdowns, and expect the liberal states to follow suit.

Ain't gonna happen.

Liberal states will stay shut down until the economy tanks and, hopefully for them, President Trump's poll numbers will follow.

Well, if the deep state CABAL had not affected their plan to drastically reduce the worlds population by this time.

Hitler was only thinking small scale.

Progressive strategy 101 per Saul Alinski. Never let a good crisis go to waist. In their small gay minds, the only reason they would ever lose in the fall to the likes of Trump is because of a decent economy. In their minds, he has no other chance. So if they have their way, they will do anything in their power to destroy what's left of the economy. Even if it means the country goes into a prolonged depression. Hell, they would embrace a depression as an opportunity to shove down our throats a bunch of new. never ending federal programs and people would embrace them with open arms. And if Trump opens things back up, they will probably file a class action lawsuit against him for every single death that occurs.

All that being said, it would be hilarious if Trump wins against Biden by a BIGGER margin than he won against Hilary. Millions of liberal heads would explode so profoundly in one moment, that the Earth would be knocked off it's solar trajectory.
