I'm sure everyone has a strategy for hard boiled eggs but I hate fighting stubborn shells. Tried cooking some in the InstantPot today and they were probably the easiest I have made yet. Dozen large eggs left out at room temperature for a few hours. Cook 5 minutes on high. Natural release for 5 minutes and then manual pressure release. Lastly, 10 minutes in an ice water bath. Crack and peel under faucet with luke warm water. Shells peel right off. Share your secret.

I make a dozen at a time in a toaster oven. 325 for 20 minutes, perfect every time. Easy peeling.

Instapot is the ONLY way I will HB an egg. 5+10 sounds like a very iver cooked egg to me though?

I load them in on a trivet, add hot water to the bottom of the eggs.

3 minutes pressure cook, 3 minutes natural release, then manual release, ice bath.

Try backing down on the time and let us know what you think!

I did 5+5. The 10 minutes was the ice bath. They came out fine but were starting to show the slightest green on the very outer edge of the yolk so I'm sure I could go a little less..

Sorry, yea, misread that!

3+3+ice bath gets you an easy peel, super soft HB egg, that is past soft boiled, but not by much. People have different taste in HB eggs, mine is *just* this side of soft boiled: 3+3+bath nails that. YMMV!

There's not much to it. Put eggs on the middle rack, and hit the temp and timer. Give them a cold bath when done. Works like a champ.

Thanks! I’ll give it a try. Never would have thought of that one.

Seems you could scale this up great. Put a wired rack on a cookie tray and do a couple dozen in the regular oven for holiday deviled eggs.

I have a small pot that i boil my eggs in.

It is just the right size for 4 eggs and when filled with water it just covers them with an inch of dry to the top.

When the water gets down to about the top half of the eggs i turn them off.

They are drained and tap water run over them till pot is cool to the touch.

I usually run water slow and just warmer than cold.

start with HOT water so pressure builds up immediately.

3 minute cook, IMMEDIATELY relieve pressure and peel.

That should get you really close, adjust time as necessary!

If you can do it again, I'll try it. Thanks for the thread. Everything I've tried is hit/miss, though I don't generally do hard-boiled.

Six minutes for perfect eggs.

Now my brother in law throws a little baking soda in his water when he boils them, they turn out perfect too.

I put in a a dozen eggs for about 7 minutes then release the pressure and dip in cool water and peel. The shell comes right off for me.

Have a small 6 egg steamer that does a great job and they always peel easily.

Just load it up then pull them out when the buzzer goes off and let them cool on the counter. So easy a campfire member could do it smile
