A question and a comment. First, I am basically completely ignorant when it comes to any finer points of air rifles...you're answering the ignorant. Question first. When I bought my Walther Talon springer, the first couple shots cracked like a 22. After reading the posts about oil in the bore igniting, is that what happened and caused the crack? I haven't heard it since and that's been several years. Comment, I guess I was lucky when I started shooting this thing...I expect 10 years ago, it's always been skwerl's eye accurate out to 20 yards and, evidently I am blessed. At 67, I don't own a rifle with a scope on it an I can still shoot sub-moa at 50 yards benched if the rifle and load are capable. Depending on the sighting and target arrangement, 2-3 inches at 100 is still doable on a regular basis. Thank you God!!

It's possible the oil from the manufacturer burned off the first couple shots. I had a couple cheap Crossman nitro piston rifles do that. Also your rifle is rated at 1200 fps in .177 so it could have been a sonic crack.

Thanks tmitch. As you mentioned, at first I thought it was the velocity but, I've not heard it again, at least not anywhere near kike those first 1 or 2 times. I'll say one thing, that rifle is accurate! I don't know if Walther actually made it.

Ok, here is the report back after reading all of the above advice and some that was PM'd to me. I ordered 3 different varieties of H&N pellets, I had a little trouble finding JSB pellets in stock.
Shooting these new pellets still gave me 10 shot groups of 1-1/2' - 2" at 15 yards but best promise looked like H&N Terminators. I'm thinking OK, these are better pellets this gun should shoot them better.
I got out the screwdriver and started checking fasteners and lo and behold, everything was loose. I took the action out of the stock, degreased the fasteners and hole threads and put everything back together using blue thread locker, The fork pivot bolt was very loose and I'm sure that was a major factor in the inaccuracy. I also checked and tightened the scope fasteners. Back to the bench.
Here is the final result, shot at 15 yds., after the improvements the H&N Terminators came out on top for accuracy with a 1/2" group, but the other two, H&N Sniper Lights and Baracuda Hunters came in under an inch. The holes you can make out in the picture that were taped over are the "before" 10 shot group.

Big improvement, thanks for the tips guys!

Still suggest giving the lighter JSB's a shot....
