Sounds like a fine one.

Great looking pistol. Hard to find good nickel plated handguns where the nickel hasn't deteriorated. That's a beauty! Congrats!

Savage sold almost totally through retailers after the first few years for almost all their guns. So Iver Johnson was just probably the local sporting goods store where the owner placed his order.

When you pull the slide back is there a three digit number on the bottom?

These Savage pistols seem to be in two states, excellent condition because they spent there life in a bedside drawer or well used.

You not only got one with condition but a very hard to fine plated one. Congratulations.

I have all (?) of the .32's and several .380's but no plated ones. frown

Rick, because of trauma to both my hands, I could barely pull the slide back, it appears so, but not sure, I will get a neighbor over and check for sure.

I can easily pull the slides back on my .45's, this must not have been shot very few times, it was a struggle to move the slide. this one of the top five gun or guns that I have ever had, bought my first .22 in 1954

Yes, the spring on a 380 is much heavier gauge than a 32.

Might be.. but the first really nice 1907 in 32 I got had a spring that was extremely stiff. Very stiff.. I think it might just be a function of stiffening up if not used.
