I've been out of the .22 game for awhile, bought a Ruger 10-22 to shoot woodchucks in my backyard. Saw one this morning and the irons were fuzzy. I'm partial to Leupold. Thanks.

Since the Weaver rimfires are all but gone this.

2.5-8x36 Leupold on mine that I like quite a bit. Honestly I like the little bit thicker cross hair of the big game scopes vs. the rimfire fine Leupold Duplex. I know the parallax argument comes into play using a big game scope, but if your cheek weld is consistent, it shouldn't make that much difference. A 3-9x33 VX-2 Rimfire EFR is going on my 77/22 and while I like that front adjustable objective that will focus down to 10 meters, it is just something extra to mess with. Doug can probably get you a good deal on a Leupold 2-7x32 Freedom Rimfire and that would be a good way to go on a 10/22.

We never had much luck getting a scope to live on a 10-22.

I have a regular Leupold VX-1 2-7x33 on one of the 10/22's, that I adjusted the parallax to 50 yards.

The other 10/22 has a Leupold VX-II 4-12x40 AO with the Long Range Duplex.

I've got a tricked out 10-22 with a 16" Green Mtn bull barrel in a Boyd's thumbhole stock it wears a Leupold 2 x 7 Rimfire model scope. With certain ammo it will do <1" at 50 yds all day with a stock trigger. No scope problems yet. MB

It's BIG on a 10/22 but I really like the SWFA 6x.

On the "cheap", I've had really good luck with the Simmons 3x9 .22 version called the .22Mag.
< $50.

On a Hogue stocked, heavy barrel 10-22 I have the Mueller 4.5x14 APV with adj parallax - that scopes a pretty good value for the money and is plenty of scope.

I've got like 4 different 10/22s.. they get used at times heavily as I am a shooting instructor for the local Boys Scout Council
in our district...

for back yard work on these sage rats...or digger squirrels as they are also called..
the simple basic 10/22 had a 6 power Weaver thrown on top..

This one's age is such that I bought it and some others back when they were $99 each..
and a V 9 was $129.00...

works pretty well on my little 1.5 acre Weed Plantation....

I use a cheap 3-9 Nikon Buckmaster on my AWC suppressed 10/22, clear as a bell and holds good zero for yard/garden vermin hunting.

I've had a couple on my CSC, first the SS 6x42, which was great, but pretty bulky. At the moment it wears a Weaver 2.5-7 rimfire which I scored for $100. Next up is a Primary Arms 1x prism for a trial run. The rifle is mainly a plinker, so the PA's virtues close-in should be a good fit. Probably will get the SS ringed up again for ammo testing later.

The Weaver, if you can find one discounted, is a solid choice for general purpose use, and the parallax is set for short range.

I know this won't be a popular opinion, but I run a Simmons Deerfield 3-9x32 on my stock model 10/22 and I have for the past 15 years or so. It's probably my favorite cheap scope. It is clear, it's the perfect size for a 10/22, it takes a beating (it's been dropped, banged around, etc.) and it keeps on chugging. I have no idea the current quality of these though.

One a heavy barrel 10/22 I like a lot more power. I've had pretty good luck with some of the higher powered Mueller scopes if on a budget. These are really just a bit big for stock rifle you plan to use for hunting though.

I have a Leupold rimfire 4x28 on mine. Works good, but I like the 2-7x28 on my RAR better. They don’t make either anymore, but you can find them used if you watch.

I have a Leupold VX1 2-7X on my fingergroove, leave it at 4X.
My target model had a Vari X II 4-12X AO.

Too bad the new EFR Freedom VX looks like crap.
And the old EFR 3-9X have gone insane on price (used).

If the looks don't bother you, the Freedom VX 2-7X rimfire is better looking than the EFR 3-9X.
And has the hashmarks on the lower vert wire for diff holds.
Plus is parallax set for 50 or 60 yards.

Around 200 bucks.
Have the standard VX Freedom on my CZ455, leave it at 4X. Since it's not rimfire distance parallax.
Mushroom hunted, looked for turkey sign and woodchucks with it..................just got home.

Hell an old M8 4X big game scope would be fine on a 10/22 I reckon.

IMHO the fixed 4X Leupold rimfire is a stubby scope and looks too short even on a 10/22.
Had one and sent it down the road (made my international 10/22 look silly).

Yeah, just about any decent 3-9x40 will work. I like more magnification than most do, so even a 4-12 or 4.5-14× with adjustable parallax works great too. Ive had just about every conceivable variable on my 10-22 rifles and the good ol 3-9×40 is hard to beat.

You bet Buddy, have a garden sniper station in a back bedroom, about 30 yard max shot, that suppressed 10/22 is a blast keeping rabbits and squirrels outta Wifes produce, can shoot late in the summer till the muscadines get to thick to see through.
