I'm sure I couldn't resist hunting other critters there. But how much should it cost in American $$ to hunt once you are in-country? TIA Rusty

Google water buffalo safari

Prices probably not much different to hunting Cape Buffalo in Africa.

I looked at going buffalo hunting here maybe 10 years ago. It would have cost in the range of $6 to $8k AUD and that was to shoot one trophy animal. This was for a guided hunt and travel was on top of that. Unless you know a property owner, you'll be up for one of these guided hunts. I don't know if it's the exchange rate or special deals but it seems to be good for hunters from the US and also Europe (eg Germany). Also they only operate in the dry season between May and September.

Try Aaron Corbett's Australian Outback Buffalo Safaris, he runs a great hunt. Hunted with him in 2018 and had a blast, took my Dad because he always wanted to see OZ. No better way to see somewhere than with a big bore in hand!

Cheers,
Cody

Try this outfitter I've hunted with him twice (2010 & 2014) and had a great time.

Hi Rustyzipper,

I use to run 4 day guided Buff Hunts over 10 years ago. I use to charge 5k for everything including 1 Bull. An extra 1.5k if you wanted to shoot any more Bulls.

I've only just added a Video of one of my hunts on You Tube.

Check it out.

I have decided against going to Australia. The government has made it clear they would prefer communism. It will be hard to put up with the red tape to take my own gun. I need an extremely short LOP so I don't wish to use the outfitter's gun. I have thought about it for quite a while and talked to quite a few people on several boards. Thanks for the offers though. Be Well, Rustyzipper.

The red tape in this country can be a PITA but any decent outfitter will generally deal with the red tape for you.
