It's bigger than it looks in the pic. I bet I could catch a stringer of bluegill out of there in a little while with a yellow spinner bait.

He's not a bad guy, actually. He just doesn't want people running around on his property.
I understand that.

Do you mean a yellow beatle spin? If so, yep, you would likely be right. Get your wife to drop you off by there one evening. A buddy of mine plays the broke down vehicle trick. He puts a white rag in the drivers side window and sneaks in. The dude really racks up sometimes.

I don't know if it's still that way but it used to be if the state of Kentucky stocked game fish in ponds/lakes on privately owned ground the owner was supposed to allow public fishing. Even if no longer the rule, public fishing possibly could be 'grandfathered' in for ponds state stocked previous to change in ruling.

A friend of the family bought some property with a pond about that size when I was a young teen. He allowed me to fish in it.
I was fishing for bluegill when I caught my first largemouth bass out of that pond. It was about 3 lbs, but I thought it was a monster.
I showed it to the guy that bought the property and he decided to go fishing with me afterwards. I caught quite a few bass out of that farm pond.

Just throw some walnut husks out there and net the big floaters.
I'm kidding of course.

Is that road public? I could make that cast all day long. That's another neighbor's driveway. We're off the road a bit back here.

The first 3-lb. bass for a kid is a huge deal. Almost like getting laid the first time. Well, maybe not. But it's up there. A good fishing pond is one of life's simple but profound pleasures.

I understand that. He's a selfish prick if he won't let a good neighbor fish in that pond.
