Last night we had 2016 Bella Union Cabernet with white bean, rice, and fried crawfish. That was very sophisticated for the houseboat. Been drinking Wild Turkey 101 straight with a little ice lately. Pretty good.

Well, tonight being Monday, nothing. Last night being Sunday, nothing. Up until a few weeks ago, we'd have a drink every evening before dinner. Sometimes some wine with dinner as well. Then we decided to cut it down to one drink Friday night and one Saturday night. Damn, I really like my alcoholic beverages. I have to admit, blood pressure is showing marked improvement and I generally feel much better. It's tough, when you like it as much as I do, but limit yourself to two drinks a week, it makes it really hard to decide what to have. Friday night it was a Negroni, Saturday night an Old Fashioned. Looking ahead, I think this week it will be a Martini Friday night and a Manhattan Saturday night.

Oh, decided to have a mule off. Australian, Buderim ginger beer vs Fever Tree ginger beer. Further testing will be needed to determine the result.

When I lived in Australia it was Bundaberg. Great root beer too.

I usually steer clear of craft distillers. Most of their schit hasn’t caught up with mainstream products. They’re where craft brewers were in the 90’s.
That said, buddy dropped of a bottle of Woodinville Bourbon the other day. The stuff is GOOD. Not near as sweet and carmely as Makers but not as hot and spicy as Bookers. Kinda a nice little stop in the middle.
It’s a nice $40 bottle IMO.

The good stuff goes fast. Back to the basics. That ginger beer and vodka looks like the ticket for hot nights. Thanks for the notion.

Yep, Moscow Mule are very refreshing !!
I always ad a quarter of a lime juiced, + a slice.
Adds tartness & helps balance.

I have learned that Tito's is a huge anti gun guy and gives to anti gun movements. Therefore, I will look elsewhere for my Vodka. Titos is over rated and over priced
