Great mount and deer. What state did you kill it in?

I’m a terrible story teller but here goes nothing...

I finally drew a tag in an area I could dedicate some time to scout. I wasn’t able to find many deer for a while and as the hunt got closer I found a small group of bachelors that I kept my eye on. Fast forward about two weeks before the hunt I went back up to scout found the group and low and behold this guy was in there!

Hunt time came and typical... no sign of any of them. Third day in, glass a buck bedded up in timber, thick a$$ timber at that. Patiently wait as wind was great for what seemed like days and the buck finally came out to feed. Not the deer I was hoping for😡. My buddy was trying to convince me to shoot him, he was decent maybe a 170 with character. As we discussed it the deer I had been waiting for was walking straight out of the trees behind the other deer. Dumb luck but there he was! 364 yds and the proofs in the pics. Also a scouting pic of him alive

Awesome deer. We killed some dandy’s like this one out of Lindrith. Great deer in the NW. I wish we still had those ranches for the mule deer hunting.
