Has anyone had a Superlite rebored and if so what caliber? Have a 6.5 Creedmoor that seems a little redundant and was thinking it could be a fun project.

1-8 7-08. That’s what I would do. But haven’t.

What’s a rebore cost?

Have a 1-8 blank sitting in the reloading room for another project. Rebores are normally big bore and run around $250 last I looked. Would love to do a 9.3x62 but think the flutes May stop that.

Ask Dan Pederson at cutrifle.com

He rebores just about anything small to large, $345. Any day now I’ll take delivery of a 7 mag he’s turned into a .416 Taylor for me.

You haven’t been hanging out with BW have you? Haha.

Let me know how it goes. That $345 includes chambering? Might have to find me a cheap Tikka.

Yup. Swap out bolt stop for a long action and throat for heavies.

For me that would do nothing the 6.5 Creedmoor will not. Have plenty to cover the same ground. Was thinking a big bore would be fun.

I swapped out the bolt stop so I can load the 150 eldx. Not quite 2800 fps, really accurate.

I don't know who BW is, but I plan to give a full report of the project. Here's pricing and info:

He’s a Sitka guy (was in CG with him) who was a big fan of the 416 Taylor. Introduced me to this forum back in 2003.

Seen him on a plane a few months back. He posts as BW on here.

That makes for the fifth or sixth guy I’ve learned of in Sitka who’s got a Taylor since I decided to do one. That must be some per-capita record!

Got a call into him. Was really wanting to try out a 9.3 but may have to find another rifle to send because of the flutes

Jess turned my old Springfield 03A3 into a 338-06 for my grandson. We like it and he is a pleasure to deal with.

I have thought about a stainless 22" barreled Tikka Lite bored to a .35 Whelen or 9.3x62 with a couple of those 5 round magazines, should make a good rifle to have along when fishing salmon streams and moose hunting.

I’m hard on a blued gun. Was thinking of almos the same setup on the Tikka. Really think the 9.3 would be fun. Not much big or dangerous game around me unless someone considers hogs dangerous but have killed 100s with 7.62 steel case. They die easy.

I would go 21 or 22". You should be able to do that without getting into the flutes. RJ

Well may have to look for another donor. If I’m running my numbers correctly I don’t think the reamer will clean up the Creedmoor shoulder.
