This is a very nice, clean pre-64 Model 70 in 300 Win. Mag. They were made only 1 year, 1963 and only 4,916 were made.

There is light wear on the muzzle, and a scratch on the bottom metal. Overall, this is a very nice rifle.

I tend to over plan things. I intended to hunt the rifle and did not want to damage the original stock, so I removed it put it away for safe keeping. I had Lee (Redneck on here) give it a once over and bed it in a new McMillan Hunter stock with quick detach sling swivels (also picked up on here). He did a fantastic job, not surprising if you're familiar with his work.

I have never fired the rifle, and it's never left the safe except for pictures in almost 3 years and that's unlikely to change. Too many other choices. I'm not in a big rush or have any particular need to sell.

Asking $3150 shipped/insured to your FFL in the lower 48, will work with any of the Alaska guys on shipping. Original stock will ship directly to you. I believe I received 50 pcs of Lapua brass with the rifle, and will include that as well. I will not sell the McMillan stock separately unless the rifle buyer does not want it.

I also have a might as well be new RCBS 2 piece die set (loaded 10 rounds which are still on my bench) and an unopened RCBS neck sizer die that I’ll include.

To answer a couple of questions: 7 lbs, 9.2 ounces as it sits in the McMillan, I measure the length of pull at 14 inches or just a hair under.

I’m interested in the rifle, but am not a pre-64 expert. Is the recoil pad factory original? Did the magnums come with recoil pads in lieu of the steel butt plates? Thank you and good luck with the sale.

Rifle is SPF. I’ll re-list the McMillan at a later date.
