This man was fined $292 for drinking his coffee in Tim Horton's parking lot in Hampton NB, not 20 min from here. The RCMP doing it's best brown shirt act.

If this doesn't make your blood boil, it should. IIUC, he is 75yrs old.

Thanks for posting Supercub. I watched the Video and thought perhaps it was an anomaly—you know maybe a one time thing from an over excubrient Cop.
I went to the site Fighthefines.com and found it is happening all over Canada. It is Indeed scary.
There is an article about a woman fined for swinging her daughter in a closed playground and another of a man walking his dog in his apartment parking lot.
What really bothers me is the comments published after these incidents were exposed. It seems there are large numbers of people in Canada that are just fine with the loss of civil liberties.

If the sergeant doesn’t pull that ticket, both he/she and Barney Fife here need to be fired.

Supercub;
Good morning sir, I hope that other than needing some oxygen and a walk to calm down after the video that this finds you well.

If nothing else, I hope that some of this gets Canadians to pull their collective craniums out from their rectums.

The acting RCMP Sargent had better get on Constable Thompson and assist his career transition immediately!

They - the RCMP - are in big trouble with their public image and had better get onto changing that or they'll lose any remaining respect and community cooperation that's remaining.

Thanks again sir, all the best to you all and stay well.

Dwayne

After listening to the recording, it's even worse than it seemed at first. That asshat shouldn't be entrusted with police powers and/or a gun.

Maybe Tim Horton can use someone with his unique abilities.

Top of the morning to you sir, I hope the day is a fine one on your side of the continent and this finds you well.

Indeed it is worse than it seemed at first - to this Canuck anyways.

Without trying to be confrontational, I'd respectfully differ with your career transition choice for the Constable as I'm not entirely certain he can be trusted to make a proper Double Double, you know?

Goodness, if some customer offends him then we can see all sorts of mayhem taking place with the sugar/cream additions can we not? No, I don't believe we can risk the safety of Canadians by entrusting him with that sort of power and responsibility...

Oh wait.... frown

All the best to you all sir, stay well.

Dwayne

Always good to hear from you, Dwayne. It's obvious somewhere along the line someone taught you how to behave, a rare quality nowadays.

I agree ...... I'd say the old fellow that was ticketed was very well behaved despite the treatment he was given by that RCMP officer. Not sure most of us would be that cool in reply. Good for him to get his phone recording.

"Excubrient" There's a word you don't hear everyday. Anyone know what it means? I've already e-mailed Prof. Irwin Corey about it but, got no reply.

It doesn't look like a free country to me. Can you go buy a handgun or rifle quite easily? Not in the US. And I think the laws are worse in Canada. We all had better wake up before the brown shirts have taken over the US AND Canada. Be Well, Rustyzipper.

They don't call firearms ownership here a right, they call it a privilege and thus can be revoked as the liberals have done here in the last month.

So called "assault" rifles are are now banned outright. Handguns are up in the air. it's an outright attack for the fear mongering liberals on legal gun owners who have gone through very a restrictive process in order to have that ownership privilege.
