The title says it all. Just been noticing scat and saw a raccoon tonight. Can they see red light or do I need to go to night scope? Only drawback to night scope is it is sitting on a loud rifle.

Read that it looks black to them - don't know how anybody would truely know . But hey it was on the webbernet ...

Just keep a critter in the very edge of a light -halo- move it slow and take your shot .

FWIW we have called them into a white light and killed them just as dead...

It's the intensity of the light, not the color ...

Yes they can. My Reconyx has a low level red light and they are very curious when they see it. They walk right up to it to see what it is.

Red is easier for seeing eyes. White better for shooting. Intensity is all that matters for spooking regardless of color.

Yes they can see it. Sometimes it bothers them but most times it don't. I have shinned many around my hog feeder and maybe 1 in 10 might leave, the others just keep on eating.

I agree that they see something. They notice when I have a red light on them, and they react to it but don’t usually run off.

Most animals, including dogs, don’t see colors. They see greys and for some reason don’t see red lights.
