I lived in the UP for eight years. I’m honestly surprised that state hasn’t blown up with civil disobedience yet. I know there’s been several demonstrations but I would’ve thought she’d be tarred and feathered by now. I have a buddy who is a life long Michigander, born and bred, and he left the state last month for good. Said things had gotten ridiculous.

efw; Top of the morning to you sir, I hope the day has been a good one for you so far and all in your circle are well. Not that it'll make you feel any better, but we're seeing that exact same behavior up here across the medicine line as well. Our beloved PM Sparkle Socks made one of his cottage front passive aggressive chats about staying away from the summer cottage and not seeing family for Easter and then did just that. The Premier of Ontario - who seems in most ways to be more or less okay otherwise - said no family, no, no, no - and then had adult daughters come over. Then there's the virologist in the UK who has been credited with the whole "lock yourself in a closet" scheme who kept on seeing his married girlfriend when he'd tested positive for beer virus. He made some idiotic excuse, but basically wanted to still have sex and didn't care if he'd infect her and her entire family - she's still with the husband and kids. Having seen a photo of this chap, I've got nothing more charitable to say about the apparent lack of taste of any of the parties involved...  . If nothing else sir, I am hopeful that citizens the world over are beginning to see that those who would rule over us with their "tin fist" are the highest level of hypocrite humanly achievable, you know? Our challenge, will be to keep our fellow citizens' focus on that when next we go to the polls. While I can't speak for the "average" US citizen, it would seem to me that many of my fellow Canucks have the concentration span of a squirrel on espresso.... We'll see, will we not? I went north 2 weeks ago with a travel trailer in tow. `I was just taking it out for a shake down ride, 300mi.' There were many police on the road in all there usual speed trap spots. I didn't get stopped.

Because these people operate on an entirely different level that permits them to do things and go places far above and beyond what regulars subjects are permitted to do. It's all because we are in an "emergency situation" and our noble leaders are required to be able to continue fighting for you because their emergency powers are now so badly needed that we must all pull together and allow them to go about their duties. But don't take my word for it; just ask Andrew Cuomo, Gretchen Whitmer, or Bill DeBlasio so they can give you a nice lesson on executive privilege. Meanwhile, just shut up and comply.

I had no problem with the clamp down in the hot zone. The dumb ass had the same rules in the UP they had in Detroit. We don't live near any area of the outbreak. Our grandchildren are in the Sault, first grandson born March 25th. We have not stopped visiting them. I also worked through the shutdown and so did my wife. My son managing a building supply in the Sault said he had his best qtr ever.
