as kid growing up on a ranch we used wire in our hay bailers, now it seems like all the balers use twine now, back in the day we only used twine for round bales. The are other wire out there mainly for tieing rebar together its not the right guage. The nice thing about old school bailing wire is I could take a pair of pliers and twist the crap out of it till it was mega tight. Now I can't get any without spending $150 for an entire box. any other sources I got a few things around that would be nice to have some bailing wire to tie up.

Most all trapping supply places have "trapping wire " of different gauges which is pretty much the same old annealed iron wire that bailing wire is. Average about $5.00 a spool

Cumminmecowboy,

I'd love to help out.

But all the retailers I know of won't sell to retards.

Best of luck.

The local Co-op sells 16 ga or 14 ga galvanized fence wire in 5 lb spools. That is what I use for tie wire. It is a bit more expensive than grabbing a hunk of old wire after feeding. But on the other hand, we no longer have big piles of used wire all over the place.

I have some 14g sitting right here. ("Trappers wire ") seems kinda light, but I think actual real baling wire is 14- 14.5 like was said.

Baling wire in full rolls is still available. I keep a roll in my shop.

Lots of sheep guys still prefer wire bales over twine.

Google search will help you find it for sale.

There better be new scope testing videos coming. I think 14 gauge wire is too small for attaching scopes to pavilion structures.
