Drove over to Jacksonville, Tx on Friday afternoon to talk to them about reducing the weight on my exisitng Bob Lee. That 57# is too much for me right now. Plan was to give me somehting I could shoot daily to start building my muscles back up. I guess I was an easy target and instead left for home packing a new takedown Bob Lee Signature Exotic recurve from Rob and JJ. 47# @ 28" for some all afternoon backyard enjoyment.

She's a beauty! (he wife is too, but I'm talking about the bow). Heck, everything Bob Lee makes is drop dead georgous. Exotic woods and overlays that really "pop" with eye appeal. And I love a "take down" recurve. So handy to travel with.

I celebrated my indiscretion with a stop at the Taco Bell drive thru for a cruch wrap and Mt. Dew. I mean, why not? Right? Then swung by my local shop on Saturday to get some Beman 6mm carbons made up with some of that "heavy" front end rigging: 500 spine, 75 gr brass insert, and 125 gr. points. The fly nice after some brace height and nock point adjustment. With yarn puffs tied into the flemmish string the bow barely an silent killer.

Trying to come up with a name for her. Bows and rifles have to names you know.

Will work on posting some pics. Wish me luck.

Sounds divine. I vote for Delilah. Killer of biblical proportions.

.I like the way you're thinking.

I named my carry 9mm "Ester" because she protected her people!

Very nice. I like those Bob Lee bows.
I am going to be getting into a recurve this summer, the 56# Pronghorn long bow is getting to be more than my old shoulder can take any more.

My bow has the same name as my rifle, and handgun............and shotgun..........POS.

I like takedowns, the added mass weight feels good to me.
There's also the option to change limbs or if you take a bad tumble and bash a limb, the whole bow isn't trashed.

I've not shot a Bob Lee, but dig the looks of em big time.
Congrats on the cool bow

Thanks for the kind remarks.

She is a beauty. I've also a desire for a shorter bow in lighter draw. Think one of those Slick Sticks might be on my Christmas wish list. But I have a wondering eye and that's a long way off. In any case, no additional toys until I can shoot this one the way it deserves to be shot. Likley not any "40-yard pokes", but may some for 20 to 25.

A really good nickname is earned. You know, like the ones your buddies came up with for you? So it is with this new bow.

Was shooting out back with my wife, went to fetch my arrows, and leaned my bow against the stand. The lower limb tip on the nice soft St. Augustine grass. We come back and a slug has crawled 2 inches up the lower limb. I do need to decent bow stand. Working on that.

New bow name: Slugger!

Oh man...that is just bragging.

Ask your wife what she thinks for the name.

She was shooting with me. "Slugger" was her suggestion. Who am I to argue with that?

Not many things more beautiful than a custom take down recurve. I shoot a 62" Palmer take down, 51# at 28" draw. Can't wait for archery elk season this fall. I need to name her though. Haven't done that yet.
