Excellent! But you must not have read other threads here, one doubting the efficacy of .22-250 on deer and another about .243s on deer being a recipe for failure. I dunno what they'd think about a young girl killing a really nice bear with a .223....

What a beautiful picture, beautiful girl, beautiful bear. Thanks for making it possible and sharing the pic. I was blessed with taking two bears with my two daughters yeas ago.
I picked up some of those 62 grain Barnes and was going to load them in my AR for a caribou, never did it. Gives me a reason for another rifle, a Tikka T3X Superlite in .223 needs to be in my arsenal..

Bear couldn’t catch a 62 behind the shoulder
Folded on the shot then got up and made a 60 yard dash and was done
Good blood trail
He didn’t know if he was shot with a .22 or a .338

Super. But, don't ya know, here on the Fire, no way a little ole .223 can kill a big ole bear, just can't happen...  Guess it can happen out in the wild with a good trigger puller... Great story, great trophy. Her smile says it all. You've created yourself a lifelong hunting pard... Who wouldn't want to hunt with somone who can shoot like that. DF
