I got the scope as part of a trade for a ten inch 22 rimfire Contender pistol barrel. Seemed to work ok but I put a different scope on that barrel and this one has sat in a tote box for long time. I decided I wanted to see if I like the scout scope idea and a little research showed me that a contender base will fit in the holes in front of the receiver of a Rossi 92 copy I have in 45LC. The base needs a bit of shimming in the front because the 92's barrel tapers in the front a bit. So I got it together and sighted in and truthfully a thicker reticle would be nice but I am easily able to get three inch groups at 100 yards using a variety of reloads. It is easy to get on target and is light enough that it doesn't hurt the handling characteristics of the 16" barreled carbine. My stepson borrowed it the other day to do some hog trap running and apparently to shoot up a box of my reloads. He typically shoots the ones too small to sell and loads the bigger ones into a trailor cage. Well he left the rifle on top of the trailor cage and it fell off at around 25 miles an hour onto one of the ranches semi gravel roads. Skun my gun up real nice! The scope too. Not that it's loss would have been an issue. Took him an hour to find it and now he being horrified at the thought of giving it back to me all skun up he went to town and got a 12 pack, went back to the ranch with his partner in crime and proceeded to shoot up all the ammo I had loaded for the rifle. 13.0 grains of Blue Dot under personally cast 270 gr. Semiwadcutters. The beer and the rifle/scope performed perfectly and stayed sighted in. He decided to buy the gun off of me for what I paid for it and I threw in the scope for free. So the cheap scope held up above and beyond the call of duty and now I am free to buy myself something else. Going to look for another 45 LC but with a 20 inch barrel. As for the scout scope concept I shot it a lot better than with irons but definitely want a thicker reticle and maybe a Vortex or a leapers LER scope on it and no I am not loaning it to Billy!

Put a Leupold or Burris Scout scope instead of those low value scopes. Yo0u have proved the principle to yourself. And if you train with a better scope you will get good at it. Be Well, Rustyzipper.

I looked at a Burris already and for some reason it's glass was no better than the NcStar had though a much better scope overall. I also looked at the Vortex and it had better glass but seemed a bit large. The Leupold is looking better all the time.

I use mostly the Leupold but the Burris is the one on my 95 Marlin. I looked at the data for a possible scope in the Leupold variable line and there was no eye relief included in the long column of data. The eye relief was one of the main things in the purpose of looking for a scope. My eyes are getting older. And there is no handier rifle to me than the Scout. I have been interested since 1966 in Col. Coopers ideas. I have shot the LER scopes enough to find them to fit my shooting style well. Have you looked at Fr. Frog's website or the Scout Rifle Forum? If you look there is a lot of data about various scopes to use. But no where does it look like the high quality manufacturers care about this market. I would like to see the German manufacturers get serious. I could get by with three copies of good glass with LER. Be Well, Rustyzipper.

Yes I did and it seems the consensus there is that there is no just right scout scope out there. I am far sighted and scout scopes are a real move forward over irons.

Take a look at the Leupold 1.5-4x28 scout scope. Its reticle is a little fine but usable. I have 2.5x28 mm Leupolds and the Burris 2-7. The Burris has heavier crosshairs but it would be huge on a 92.

The Rossi is both lighter and shorter than that Marlin, nice gun though. I have it's bigger brother in a 444 Marlin I shoot when I need to remember the three discs that have been replaced in my neck. Heard you shoot groups at 25 yards and mark targets for longer ranges, any truth to that?

It's your Imagination, simply be SURE to Pretend with it as you MUST and "convince" yourself of the things you most NEED to hear. Hint. LAUGHING!

Trybone,

I've never cared for Mildots and that scope has never had 'em even offered, but your AMAZING Fhuqking Stupidity never disappoints in it's Magnificent Grandeur...you "lucky" kchunt. Hint. Congratulations?!?

Now as to taking a modest X'd SFP and corroborating subtension of a GOOD reticle,to jive with erector travel,it is standard fare here and HILARIOUSLY wellllllll beyond your "means","abilities" or "comprehension". Tough to whoop an etched reticle that actually steers boolits,eye-relief and FOV to the task, along with magnification that suits. 62 Mil's on an erector prolly don't suck and I'm thinkin' that 10 more on the windshield, don't hurt production either. Hint. LAUGHING!

Fortunately for you,Imagination and Pretend are free,so you can "afford" to "contribute". I find it HILARIOUSLY fascinating, that you perpetually wonder aloud, that why besides being a Brokedick, you are also a CLUELESS Fhuqk and a Lying Piece Of Fhuqking Schit. That's The Snowflake Trifecta! Hint.

It is no "surprise",that you are enthralled with wares beyond you and gotta steal keepsakes,as a sole "move". Hint. LAUGHING!

I can see you consulting your anemometer and windage tables for a 75 yard shot with that rifle. 🤣 🤣

NcStar Hah! It was free and the Rossi was worth every dollar I paid for it, still is after being slung off a trailor. I was surprised the scope wasn't totally trashed.

Trybone,

It's your Imagination, simply Pretend with it as you MUST and keep relating how "real" that is to you...you "lucky" kchunt. Hint. Congratulations?!?

I find it Fascinating, that you are bent on relating how you are a Brokedick CLUELESS Lying Piece Of Fhuqking Schit,at every opportunity. Hint. LAUGHING!

Base 10 Math don't stump many, though kudos to you,for having it whip your ass. It's easy for someone with 17 IQ Points or better,to gawk and apply Base 10 Math, whether it Elevation Subtension or Atmospheric Hold-offs. Value is factored at whole 10MPH impetus(90 degree angle to boolit flight) and it's a breeze to reliably arrange wind values/directions greater or lesser than that whole. Pun be intended. Hint. Laughing!

1000 words,upon said platform. Hint.

You be SURE to chime in,with even more things beyond your "means","abilities" and "experience" to "comprehend"...because you are really doing "GREAT". Hint. LAUGHING!

Bless your heart for Trying,Crying and Lying.

LAUGHING!!!..............

math',

Nawwwwwwwwww...it's a fhuqk of a LOT funnier than that! Hint.

NOTHING is more Hilarious, than a Texan trying to "talk" Rifles or The Outdoors.

Bless her heart for Trying though!

Rickety,

You palms upturned Melting Snowflakes are a fhuqking RIOT...you "lucky" kchunt. Hint. Congratulations?!?

In fairness though,"trailor" is a BIG word. Hint. LAUGHING!

Bless your heart, for giving it your ALL.

So not giving a crap about a rifle being thrown off a trailer onto a gravel road makes me a Snowflake? Hell I figured I would try to keep up with the Stick analogy of WGAF throwing rifles off hills. But to think you are a fugging spelling Nazi makes me think you will vote Biden this year. Sad.
