I like the idea of that, or pepper balls if they can take the violent launch.

Pepper balls are pretty overrated.

Paint balls hurt just as bad. They can be quite a deterrent.

Thanks.

Good to know.

On the riots.

We can't shoot these people.
We are not that kind of people.
It sounds good, all puffed up and bad ass,
with no personal responsibility.
But it would be a Christmas gift for the organizers.

We need boots. By the thousands.
As much protective gear as possible, less than lethal weapons.
A few solid guys armed to protect the rest.
Bum rush them, everyone restrained.
Lock them up an keep them until they are all sorted out.
A velvet hammer so to speak .

[bleep] your velvet hammer. If they come to my neighborhood, I'll start shooting.
We have the right to protect our lives and property. Period!

You go ahead and fire into a crowd when they turn the corner into your
neighborhood. It will work out well.

But, your heroic fantasy of defending your fair lady aside, we are talking
about property, not life. And I'm from a country where the government
doesn't casually machine gun lawbreakers.

A common thread on here is "Will the cops and military turn on
gun owners if the law turns against them"? With much arguing, and
many (myself included) believing they eagerly would.

Laws passed.
Gun owners outlawed.
Should we machine gun them?

And here we are.

Do we shoot down non life threatening criminals on the spot?
Judge, jury, executioner?

Attack my home/family? Yep!
Place of work/business? Seriously, I just don't know if I want
to gun down a bunch of people. Can I kill them all? Will they
run, or burn me out? Am I going to be charged with mass murder,
lose everything I own to lawsuits and legal fees. Then life in prison.

And you will call me a pussy.

Because it's easy to talk. Be Rambo from the easy chair.

I'm being serious.

Likely, I would be there, and guarding.
Hopefully, that would stop them.
If they seemed intent to attack, I would defend myself.
Hopefully, they would run.
If they didn't, I would continue.

But, I wouldn't empty a 30 rounder into a crowd.

Stuff like that is effective on a room, but when people are outside (like we're seeing in Minneapolis) they lose their appeal quickly. OC and CS wears off pretty quick too. Especially to the initiated.

But the kinetic impact of pepperballs and paint balls really takes the its toll on the body. Especially if you can hit exposed or thinly covered skin. You can only take so much of it.

And if people wear respirators or gas masks, they can't do schit if you keep painting their face. LOL.

The mayor, Jacob Frey, seems to be physically channeling Justin Trudeau; ideologically too.

Monday, he said he might go against the governor’s allowing churches to open at only 25% capacity. Monday night he had the police stand down and retreat just before their station burned down.

But he’s won the Democrats’ yearly, virtue-signaling award by handing out masks to the anarchists. As Sean Hannity is wont to say, “you can’t make this stuff up.”

No doubt.

Take a blast from one of those to any limb, and the chances of your returning to the mob are between a one and zero.

LOL

Based on what I've been told by people that live in the area, he ordered that precinct evacuated at the start of everything.

I've been told they took and burned an empty building.

The people who own that property exchanged much of their lives earning it. Time/effort/risk = property.

I wonder if the cops took all the police firearms, ammunition, tear gas grenades, etc. with them when they evacuated their precinct station, or if they left them for the looters?

So Austin police snipers shot several the knife wielding perps from distance? Since the NNAAACP got involved, there must be a trail or record of this. Was the snipers name Whitman, by chance?

No. I was there in 69 when James Street took UT to the 14-13 National Champ win, 3 years after Whitman. It was my junior year when I was surprised to learn I had been accepted a year early and with no college degree to atrend graduate school at the UofH College of Optometry. I had applied prematurely on a whim.
I'm sure there are records of the several snipers nests and their effectiveness manned by police sharpshooters.
I dont know how much they have tried to cover up that apparent "blight" on the now PC Austin, Texas govt.
It wasnt highly advertised then.

Can you imagine having an AA robbing you at midnight outside a convenience store when like a speeding bullet the perp was taken out. I never noticed that any robbery victims required, requested or got psychological help dealing with the trauma of being able to keep their watch or billfold.

Of course, red necks like me and other Texas boys were unhappy to see the program fall by the wayside.

Unfortunately, progress must at times digress.

Good post, I think that's the way most of us feel. How long do the citizens let this crap carry on for?

And you would be filmed by one of the protestors and be charged under civil rights violations and sent to prison.
