I'll take a couple if you want to make them and sell them

What do you want it for? The Proctor is pretty much 3-gun only. Hooked up on the side of the forearm is going to give you a terrible NPA & canting problem.

Single point on the only AR I have slung, it's a 450 Bushmaster I use for hunting, handy to throw up for a shot and keep rifle off either sidearm carry side, the rest are house and truck guns, they don't need slinging.

I run VTAC 2 point slings.

Very practical, and I use them both on ARs and hunting rifles.

The reason is that I can go hands free and sling the rifle to the side to deal with whatever I need to.

That can be giving cyclists directions, or playing pocket pool after a rousing game of who's money is this (the bank's or mine).

I modify mine by running a couple of HK type clips on them as shown in the pics. This is to allow me to unhook easily for cleaning, or to switch uppers if needed.

Why do you think it’s 3 Gun only?

I use a Magpul MS4 in 2 point with QD far away on the handguard, and on the buttstock outboard. Very comfortable to carry, and quick to release for any position.
That is the only adjustable quality sling I ever used, so my experience is very limited.

The Proctor, VTAC, BFG VCAS sling and several others work just alike but the simplicity and light weight are why I ditched the BFG's and went to Proctor's.

Like some of the others above, I like a quick adjust, 2-point carry strap.

I have an STI for each of rifle. They were under $20 a few years ago.

The reason I don't have a sling, because so many of you guys think your sling is the best, then someone comes along and says its chidt... I'd probably be like TerryK and go with a magpul 2 point QD sling.. They sell those at the store, the others I've never heard of..

FWIW, I don’t know of any 3Gun guys that use a Proctor sling. They’re rarely required and the design isn’t conducive to easy removal.

As far as the side mounted issues, it could only be a problem if you’re using the sling for support while firing (which many don’t). Many guys use a sling as a holster for the rifle and in that use a side mount allows it to lay flat against you and is a useful feature.

I’m using several Magpul 2 point slings now and like them. I’ve used the VTAC in the past but with enough use the sling will drag from the metal hardware. And I prefer the single Magpul slider over the VTAC loop and tail setup.

I have some magpul slings, they are fine, the proctor sling is a lot lighter. If you can't decide just get a length of parachord and tie it on both ends. smile

As Mackay said, the reason for the VTAC type slings is you can drop the gun and get it out of your way quickly yet grab it back up just as quick.

It’s also the safest way to use a rifle and pistol on the range. Muzzle down when not in use.

The only time I tried a single point, the gun flopped around too much when moving. That’s why I prefer a 2 point.

I'm old fashioned. I have an old GI canvas web sling on mine.
