No generation has uniform values, or votes 100% in a certain direction, just trends. All have good folks and a-holes.

As someone pointed out, in 1960 and 1964 boomers weren't of voting age yet. I turned 21 in 1960 (proud pre-boomer), and I clearly remember the women gushing over the Kennedys. "He's soooo handsome, look at his hair". Jackie is beautiful, what a sense of style, and she speaks French!" "Won't it be nice to have a new baby in the White House". That was also the beginning of Hollywood's strong influence on national politics. Remember Peter Lawford?

One thing about us pre-boomers, sometimes called the Lost Generation, we have much respect for the Greatest Generation that brought us out of the Depression and won WW II. Their biggest failure IMO was to birth the Boomers. I guess they meant well, wanted their kids to have it better than they did.

In 1984 I took a job (mid-management) in which for the first time I both supervised and was supervised by Boomers. Up until that time my bosses had been WW II vets. Let's just say that the difference was stark in terms of sense of self importance and entitlement. Not anything I remember fondly.

i've read somewhere that this is a normal cycle of societies. people face great adversity and band together for the common good and make a nice safe, productive world. later generations don't appreciate the adversity or struggle and turn into lazy schitheads and cause the society to fail and once again face great adversity. repeat. i think we are just cresting the peak of the top loop in the roller coaster and beginning our descent.

Ha...what a bunch of BS. Boomer here and proud of it, started work in 8th grade, now semi retired but still working (self employed) more hours per week than most of the "welfare" generations.

But yep we did f...up a few things and are responsible for whining Gen x, y, millenials, etc.

They did not put Johnson in office, a bullet did. If that day Dems were likely more conservative that today's "conservatives".

Except for me.

Boomers fell for the Great Society BS, but it was LBJ, Humphry, McNamara and their generation that birthed it and then sold the snake oil for votes....

However, few things sadder or funnier than an old hippy who can't escape.....

History has yet to decide if that will be the case....and without the boomer votes Obama would have not got in....

horse pucky.............the voters in LBJ and McNamara s day were mostly the older generation or maybe Korean war era

most of the boomers in that day were still school children....and you had to be 21 to vote up until 1970

true that a bullet put LBJ in office at first , but the older folks had a chance to rid themselves of the bastid in 64 and get a really good man in Goldwater , but they overwhelmingly chose the bastid

remember , the greatest generation grew up with the New Deal , and massive govt during WW2

they were no strangers to big govt.

Doesn’t matter, for when Boomers became of voting age, most had been indoctrinated into the philosophy of the Great Society preached by LBJ in the 60’s.

Addition: it wasn’t until the boomers matured in their 30’s that they came to appreciate what Raegan represented, which was opportunity....

And under Reagan the US started to offshore all of its production sector, destroy Unions, stripped workers of their rights and started 50 years of wage stagnation in the US.

The Greatest Generation worked their asses off and created the start of a public safety net so their children and grand children didn't have to go through all the [bleep] they had to deal with... but their Boomer children instead chose to vote for Republicans which started outsourcing, privatization of public sectors, defunding education... so they could pay less in taxes and consume cheap china goods.

And now, they are blaming their OWN children for the mess the Boomers created..

For the record,...before the boomers got into control that old Commie FDR aligned us with "Uncle Joe" Stalin and enabled him to unleash Communism on the world.

About time the boomers hit grade school we were learning to duck and cover because FDR's old buddies had put nukes in Cuba.

The schitt was fairly well stirred up before we were even sperm.
